Getting his tongue around Bhojpuri for the leading role in P.K. was not easy for Aamir Khan.
“My character talks in Bhojpuri in the movie so I had to hire a coach, Mr. Shanti Bhushan. I worked on the dialogue for about three-four months,” Aamir Khan says.
During the training, Shanti Bhushan would speak the line first, and Aamir Khan would then imitate him. There were obvious slips and fluffs and there seemed to be a nagging doubt in Aamir’s mind if the audience would understand his speech in the film.
By the time the shoot had to start, Mr. Perfectionist was ready to roll.
P.K. also stars Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput. It is Aamir Khan’s second film with director Rajkumar Hirani after 3 Idiots.
The film will release on 19 December.
