Did Aamir Khan and 'PK' team offer Rs. 8 crore to stall Akshay Kumar’s 'Oh My God'?

Did Aamir Khan and 'PK' team offer Rs. 8 crore to stall Akshay Kumar’s 'Oh My God'?

This piece of gossip will truly leave the fans with an OMG expression. It’s being alleged that superstar Aamir Khan and the producer and director of P.K. made an attempt to scuttle Akshay Kumar’s 2012 release OMG Oh My God!.

You all know by now that ‘PK’ exposes the hypocrisy of the so-called godmen from the perspective of an alien who seeks God through them. Two years back, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal had featured in a somewhat similar film titled ‘Oh My God’. It was directed by Umesh Shukla.

Movie Review: Aamir Khan’s 'PK' is funny but flawed

It has now come to light that the ‘PK’ team comprising Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra may have tried to stall that film because they allegedly wanted to be the first to present the subject on the big screen. An offer of a huge amount of money was reportedly made to the director to abandon the project.

A Mumbai tabloid quotes a source as saying, “While OMG was being shot, Aamir and (filmmakers) Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra offered Rs 8 crore to Umesh to stop shooting the film!”

It’s a serious allegation no doubt, considering the squeaky clean images of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani as not just creative people but individuals. So we ask our readers to be cautious and not jump to conclusions and rather wait for a rebuttal from the 'PK' team.

We’ll keep you posted.
