A few weeks back, few pictures of Aamir Khan surfaced where he's maintained a very different look. Soon, media houses started speculating aout the same and reported that this might be his look for his next- a cemo in Secret Superstar. But no, the reality si something different.
Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the largest integrated theme park destination set to open this year, today announced its collaboration with Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, to create the ride, Lagaan: Thrill of Victory inspired by the Oscar nominated, epic sports-drama, Lagaan, which was produced by Aamir Khan Productions.

The Aamir Khan Productions blockbuster film is set in the Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj. The story revolves around a small village whose inhabitants, burdened by high taxes, find themselves in an extraordinary situation as an arrogant officer challenges them to a game of cricket as a wager to levy more taxes.

Commenting on his dual characters, Aamir Khan said, “I am playing two characters for this ride, one is the original Bhuvan of course, and the other is the maker of this ride, his great-great-grandson, and of course he looks very different. He further added, “The ride is about giving people an exciting time, giving you a feeling of exhilaration, and it will take you back to the film. So for people who have watched the movie, it will be a nostalgic experience. For everyone, we wanted it to be an exciting ride, it’s very thrilling, it’s bound to give you a rush.”

Some of the distinct pieces used for the iconic character Bhuvan from the original film, have been used for the Lagaan: Thrill of Victory ride.
The Bollywood Parks™ Dubai team was thrilled to have Aamir Khan on board for the only Bollywood themed park in the world. Commenting on his experience working with the Bollywood Parks™ Dubai team, Aamir Khan said, “The Bollywood Parks™ Dubai team was wonderful to work with, everyone was very focused on what they wanted to achieve and there was a lot of passion for their work. We managed to finish our schedule on time and it was a very good experience over all.”
Located at Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, within the Rustic Ravine zone, guests will get to join Bhuvan and his team in a game of cricket against the British Raj through a rollercoaster motion simulator based ride that will give visitors the best point of view of a moving cricket ball.

''PK'' is another movie of Aamir Khan which crossed 792 crore INR in the box-office and the director Rajkumar Hirani was keen to make a sequel of the same. However, as per the latest updates, he wants to be cautious before he decides to make the sequel.
Like Us on Facebook
According to Hindustan Times, since several Hindu organisations vandalised theatres screening the film and demanded to ban the movie, Hirani wants to test waters before filming the sequel. "After the amount of bashing we got for it, we would rather be careful with PK. Munnabhai (2003), of course, will have a sequel. We want to make one for 3 Idiots (2009). Let PK be for a while, unless we can use the alien to do something else'' Hirani spoke candidly about his future plans.
The ground for a sequel was set in the original movie when Khan the protagonist PK returns back to earth on his spaceship along with another alien (played by Ranbir Kapoor). Viewers thought that now the sequel will revolve around a plot which will also have Kapoor in a significant role. However, it seems the protests have put the plans of a sequel to the back burner for the time being. Khan's near to nude posters in the prequel too had created a lot of uproar amongst the orthodox groups.
The sequel of ''PK'' is expected to bring in a lot of moola for the producers Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani. Chopra is a director turned producer and has been giving blockbuster hits for a long time now. This movie had crossed $120 Million USD worldwide, reported Deadline and remained the highest grossing Bollywood movie ever.
In other news, Hirani and Khan have confirmed that they have started working on the sequel of ''3 Idiots'' which was loved by the audience of the metro cities and abroad. The fans of Khan will have to be happy with this sequel rather than waiting for the sequel for ''PK.'' The fans were hoping to see young Kapoor and veteran Khan together as aliens, however, it looks like now Khan will play the role of Kapoor's father in a Sanjay Dutt biopic which will be directed by Hirani soon.
Watch this interesting clipping from the prequel which might work as a backdrop for the sequel of ''PK.''

Deepika Padukone to romance Aamir Khan in Thug?

Deepika Padukone to romance Aamir Khan in Thug?

Deepika Padukone is currently busy with her Hollywood project, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, but she already has a Bollywood biggie, Padmavati, in hand.
Now if rumours are to be believed, she has got another film in hand, that too a huge one! She is apparently being considered for Yash Raj Films’ Thug, that is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor.
As per a report in DNA, Deepika had been earlier approached to star as the female lead in the film, when it was supposed to star Hrithik Roshan. At that time, she had refused to take it up.
Now the film has undergone a lot of changes in terms of both scripting and casting, and it is reported that Aamir Khan has replaced Hrithik Roshan. Aamir Khan had earlier worked with Victor for the blockbuster Dhoom 3. Even Amitabh Bachchan is said to be involved in this adventure film.
Now the makers have again approached Deepika Padukone with the reworked script, and this time it is rumoured that she is seriously contemplating giving her nod to the film.
Whether she will accept the film or not, well, you have to watch this space for more updates on the film. But if she said yes, then whew! Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan in one frame! That’s a movie to watch out!

Superstar Salman Khan says he advised actor-friend Aamir Khan to not go for six-pack abs look in “Dangal”, where the latter plays the role of real-life wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.
The poster of “Dangal” is out and it features Aamir sitting with his on-screen daughters, whom he trains in wrestling.
“I have seen it (poster)… Its very nice. Wait for the poster in which he (Aamir) comes bare-chested. I gave him advice don’t make six-pack abs as it’s the role of a wrestler. He (Aamir) said Sushil Kumar (real life wrestler) and all have made it, but I told him ‘you don’t do it’,” Salman said in an interview.
Recently, during the poster launch of “Dangal” the 51-year-old actor had said that he is releasing the poster of his film with Salman’s “Sultan” so that it attracts more eyeballs.
On Aamir’s strategy Salman said, “Everyone was aware of ‘Dangal’ much before ‘Sultan'”.
The “PK” actor had also said that the “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” actor is a bigger star than him.
To this, Salman, 50, replied with a chuckle, “He doesn’t lie.”
Aamir recently saw “Sultan” and was all praise for it.
“Aamir did text me. He did compliment,” Salman added.

We have always known that Aamir Khan is the hero with a golden heart. But if you needed more proof of it, here’s news.
The actor has written a beautiful heartwarming letter to two members of the Phogat family - his role in Dangal is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Phogat - who have been selected for the Rio Olympics.
According to Indiatimes, Aamir has written warm letters to wrestler cousins Babita Kumari and Vinesh Phogat, wishing them luck for the big tournament. The actor knows Mahavir’s girls, Geeta and Babita, well since he spent a lot of time with them while shooting for Dangal in Haryana.

The wrestlers would reportedly carry the letters with them to Brazil. This is the first time three women wrestlers - Babita, Vinesh and Ravinder Khatri - have qualified from India for the Olympics.

All for a good cause: Here's what Aamir Khan plans to do with his plus size 'Dangal' clothes!

Aamir Khan is currently shooting for an extensive schedule of Dangal in Punjab where the actor will be seen essaying a role of a wrestler in his next. He has been vesting all his time and energy on his upcoming next.
Aamir who had gained 25 kgs for his character in his forthcoming film Dangal is now in the process of shedding the same amount of weight in 25 weeks. Not many were aware that Aamir had to lose the same amount of weight that he had initially gained yet again for his character.
The actor will be seen playing different ages of his character in the film, therefore the actor is now preparing himself to shoot other portions of the film wherein he is required to appear different. Since the shoot for the portion where he has to look fat has come to an end, Aamir has started to lose weight from 1st January onward. Moreover, this weight loss process also includes an intense workout schedule. We would soon be witnessing the actor in a different avatar.
Aamir had created tremendous buzz when the actor had started gaining weight, the actor has completely dedicated himself for doing justice to his character. The actor has been going through several fluctuations in weight and thereby resulting in lots of clothes in the actors wardrobe. Due to the variation in weight, the actor has different sizes of clothes in plenty. The actor has decided to give it to charity. He will be donating his clothes to the needy and we totally love what he's planned to do!
Spokesperson confirms the news and adds "Aamir Khan has gone through series of sizes as he had to put on 25 kgs and again he will be going through series of sizes."

Incredible Intolerance? Itchy debate rages on after Aamir Khan is 'purged' from tourism campaign

Aamir Khan is no longer the brand ambassador of the government's 'Incredible India' campaign.
And the decision has ruffled some feathers.
But, consider this: The government has a contract with an agency. In due course of time, the contract has expired. So what does the government do?
a) Unilaterally, arbitrarily extend the contract with the said agency in violation of its own rules and regulations?
b) Float a tender for a new contract?
Too easy. The answer is option B, right? Wrong.
Aamir Khan in a file photo. AFP

According to India's card-carrying "liberal" brigade and the Indian National Congress that has a copyright on secularism, the Centre should have flouted its own rules and continued with Aamir as the brand ambassador for its Incredible India campaign.
Incredible!
As we all know, scratching not only provides relief from an itch but also induces a pleasurable sensation. Scientists who have examined our brain activity tell us that there is an award system associated with scratching. That may explain why our "liberals" find such pleasure in periodically scratching the 'intolerance' carbuncle.
They seemingly have a special 'intolerance sensor' that gets triggered automatically when encountered with a perceived act of intolerance.
But the problem lies in the fact that this extra-sensory organ works only in select cases where our "liberals" think they have a stick with which to beat Narendra Modi and his government. Did the government ask the advertising agency, McCann Worldgroup, to remove Khan before the expiry of his contract? Did the Centre discontinue the agency's service midway through the contract?
Not even the ad agency is saying so.
According to ministry officials, the government didn't even deal directly with Khan. The contract was between the actor and Prasoon Joshi's agency. So where is the question of "dropping him" when he wasn't even hired by the government in the first place?
The Centre, of course, could have handled the issue a lot better instead of appearing to speak in many voices that gave rise to speculation. But it is interesting that a routine, non-controversial, perfectly legit move has suddenly become 'controversial'. It is apparently indicative of the "intolerance wave that is sweeping the country", a perception that is unsupported by data and loosely bandied about in the echo-chambers of Indian "liberal" corridors.
Congress's Randeep Surjewala, chief of the communication department, believes the latest decision to "purge" Khan from Incredible India campaign is a reflection of "continued intolerance" being practiced by the BJP-led government.
His statement is truly incredible.
Not only does it reflect the Congress' casual attitude towards the rulebook, but the statement also seeks to gloss over instances of real intolerance shown by his party when in power.
During the Emergency, Congressman VC Shukla, the then Information and Broadcasting minister, banned Kishore Kumar's songs from All India Radio and Doordarshan because the singer once refused to perform at a Congress rally in Mumbai.
In 2004, the UPA government removed Anupam Kher as the censor board chief at the behest of CPI(M) general secretary Harkishan Singh Surjeet as part of a 'desaffronisation' drive.
Even if, for arguments' sake, we consider that the government has decided to "discontinue" with Aamir Khan's services, as the actor put it on Thursday, it isn't an unheard-of move. The relationship between brands and brand ambassadors isn't cast in stone. Celebrity endorsements are subject to variable conditions and ambassadors are often dropped from campaigns for strategic reasons.
The Indian Air Force, for instance, has dropped cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador.
L'Oreal Paris dropped Aishwarya Rai and replaced her with Freida Pinto instead.
Nike, the US sportswear giant, has said it will drop Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in favour of Barcelona striker Neymar Jr.
In fact, Amitabh Bachchan, who is touted to be the frontrunner as Aamir's replacement, was dropped as brand ambassador for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards.
So while you consider the mischievousness of the phony intolerance debate, consider this: Would Coca Cola have persisted with Aamir Khan as its celebrity endorser had the actor revealed in a public statement that he and his family members dislike Coke and drink Pepsi at home?
