Aamir Khan made a "dream come true" for Nihal Bitla, who is suffering from rare genetic disorder progeria, by meeting him. The youngster, who received goodies galore from the Bollywood actor-producer, says the Taare Zameen Par star made him feel "optimistic" about life.

Aamir met Bitla following a Facebook post, where it was mentioned that the latter wanted to meet the "PK" star and thank him for the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which gave him courage. Thereafter, Aamir shared that he was keen to meet his 14-year-old special fan, and he ensured they met.

Post their meet, a Facebook page in the name of Team Nihal Bitla posted with multiple images of Nihal and Aamir: "Thank you Aamir uncle for making my dream come true. YourTaare Zameen Par always inspired me to face adverse situations and I was always knew that one day I will meet you."Bitla even gifted Aamir a drawing of lord Ganesha, which the actor is said to have appreciated. They even posed together holding each other close, with the drawing in Aamir's hand.

"Hope you will always keep it with you," the post read further.

Aamir was also thanked for the "goodies" that he brought for Bitla as well as shared an autograph for his young fan.

"I am feeling very optimistic and positive about life. I am sure you will help spread the word for the Progeria Research Foundation to identify 60 more kids like me in India so that they can get the right treatment. Thanks again for making the time available for me and my family so quickly," the post read.

Progeria is an extremely rare genetic disorder wherein symptoms resembling aspects of ageing are manifested at a very early age. It was megastar Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal as Auro in "Paa", which brought forth the disease into mainstream knowledge.

However, for Bitla it led to "harrowing experiences".

"When I was in the fourth standard and the movie 'Paa' released, my classmates began teasing me and calling me Auro -- I felt terrible at that point, so I came home and told my parents. My dad told me to tell them 'to chill' and that 'I'm special' -- so I did. I don't blame those who don't understand me, they like me are children after all," an earlier post by Bitla's team read.

Aamir Khan's Controversy: Good or Bad To Snapdeal?

Aamir Khan's Controversy: Good or Bad To Snapdeal?

We have seen many instances where negative promotion actually improves the brand’s current position.

When Bollywood actor Aamir Khan ended up with a controversy for his comments about intolerance in India at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, we have seen people throwing out comments on social media platforms along with the ‘#AppWapsi’ initiative.

We have also seen people urging others to uninstall and not use the Snapdeal application until the actor is no more the brand ambassador for the company.

Supporting this movement, people started giving the e-commerce application a very low rating over the recent days. We have witnessed them all over the recent days.

However, Snapdeal kept itself at a far distance from the controversy by announcing Aamir Khan’s thoughts and comments as ‘personal’ by choice and can never reflect the company in any way.

The intention might have been to financially penalize the actor for expressing his views, but, as we have seen many instances where negative promotion actually ends up improving the brand’s current position, the whole situation seems to have turned the table.
We do not yet know whether the actor’s controversy actually helped the company to move up in its rankings, but, it seems the company has to thank the people for their outrage which is more likely a reason for the app’s increase in its rankings.

Aamir Khan speaks, brands get the jitters

Aamir Khan

The last thing e-tailer Snapdeal expected when brand ambassador Aamir Khan spoke recently about growing intolerance was to deal with a consumer backlash. But, that is a reality the e-commerce major, whose estimated enterprise valuation is $7 billion, is facing.

Almost 91,000 customers have in the past two days downgraded the Snapdeal application to one on a scale of five and the Twitterati is abuzz that another 700,000 consumers have uninstalled the app from their mobile phones.

While Snapdeal distanced itself from the remark, saying the comments made by the actor were "in his personal capacity", the episode has sparked a debate, with chief executives of companies admitting they will now be cautious when drafting celebrities who are passionate about issues.

"This is the first time India has seen something like this, and I suspect companies will now ensure there is some safeguard in place when hiring celebrities who are vocal about issues," says S N Rai, co-founder and director, Lava International, maker of the Lava and Xolo brands of mobile handsets.
Lava recently brought on board actor Irrfan Khan to endorse its Xolo phones. Rai says the company saw a fit between Irrfan Khan's personality and the values the brand wished to communicate. "That is how most brand endorsements happen but that could change. Companies will become stricter," he says.

Flipkart's co-founder and CEO Sachin Bansal came out strongly in support of Snapdeal on Wednesday, saying slamming it for Aamir Khan's views was wrong. "Brands don't buy into brand ambassadors' personal opinions. @Snapdeal shouldn't face this," Bansal tweeted on Wednesday.

Rai or Bansal are not the only ones speaking this language. C M Singh, chief operating officer, Videocon Industries, says companies will watch the unfolding developments closely. "I expect most advertisers to watch this situation closely because there are implications when a celebrity says something. At the end of the day, he represents a brand. A positive activity or comment has a positive rub-off on the brand he endorses. Similarly, something is construed negatively will also the rub the brand the wrong way," Singh says.

Videocon has worked with a slew of celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, who continues to be associated with it. Others who have endorsed the brand in the past are cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Aamir Khan has endorsed Titan, Tata Sky, Godrej and Coca-Cola in the past. These companies were not available for comments. In a statement, Coca-Cola India, said, "We have had no commercial association with Aamir Khan for several years and it is therefore, out of bounds for us to comment on his remarks."

But Harsh Mariwala, chairman, Marico, the maker of brands like Saffola and Parachute, says the incident will peter out in a few days. "I don't see anything wrong with what he has said and I don't think it will have any impact on how brands deal with celebrities. This was a personal opinion of Aamir's, something he voiced when attending an event. I don't think it was intentional. Yes, if there is an attempt to gain political mileage out of it, then it may not die down in a few days," Mariwala says.

Aamir Khan featured as the most trusted film celebrity after Amitabh Bachchan in the 2015 edition of the annual Brand Trust Report, which is published by city-based brand advisory firm TRA. According to N Chandramouli, chief executive officer, TRA, Aamir had moved up two notches in the 2015 list from 2014. Aamir last year was ranked fourth after Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

Internationally, say experts, brand endorsement agreements are watertight with probably every eventuality factored in. "It is almost like a pre-nuptial agreement, where everything is laid out in black and white," Chandramouli says.

"India could see something similar and possibly the discussion between brand and endorser will have to grow as to what works and what doesn't in this contract," he adds.

Golfer Tiger Woods lost a bevy of brands after facing allegations of adultery a few years ago. These included Gillette, Gatorade, Accenture, AT&T and Tag Heuer.

But as Vijay Narayanan, head of marketing at electricals major Havells, says, the episode might not be a personal crisis, but something that was said in public. "Brands will have to factor the unpredictable in their contracts in this 24x7 digital age. As an advertiser, you never know when or where the next shot will be fired," he adds.

With a sedition case now filed against Aamir and his wife Kiran Rao in a Bihar court on Wednesday under sections 153 (A),(B) and 124 (A) by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, the actor has only dug himself into a deeper hole.

Amitabh Bachchan to Aamir Khan: How Bollywood celebrates Diwali

Diwali is that time of the year when most of Bollywood is on a break to celebrate the festival of lights with their near and dear ones. We bring to you the low-down on who throws the best parties in tinselville.
The perfectionist that Aamir Khan is, he ensures that his parties too are nothing less than perfect. Aamir and wife Kiran host an annual Diwali bash at their Bandra residence. However, as compared to the others, the scale of the party is much smaller, as Aamir makes sure it is a close-knit affair. He prefers to serve his guests Mughlai food and biryani, a staple at his residence. His Diwali parties are also famous for all-night card sessions. Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Ayan Mukerji, Karan Johar, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Ashutosh Gowariker, Aamir’s nephew actor Imran Khan and his wife Avantika are regulars at this party.

The Kundras are known to throw extravagant parties. Their Diwali bash is meticulously planned to the last minute by Shilpa. The tradition started when the couple threw a housewarming cum elaborate Diwali bash in 2010 which was a huge hit with the guests. Since then, the stylish couple has decided to make it an annual affair. Bipasha Basu, Sanjay and Maanayata Dutt, Salman Khan and others were spotted as their guests in the past couple of years.

When it comes to celebrating in style, no one in Bolywood does it better than Amitabh Bachchan and family. Every year, the annual Diwali bash held at their bungalow, Jalsa, is one of the most awaited. Right from the décor to the menu, everything is carefully looked into by Jaya Bachchan. The bash in the past has seen the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, the Roshans, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor and filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker, Ramesh Sippy, etc. Sachin Tendulkar too is a regular.

When Shah Rukh Khan's Iconic DDLJ Dialogue Failed Aamir Khan

When Shah Rukh Khan's Iconic DDLJ Dialogue Failed Aamir Khan

Few would argue about Aamir Khan's ability to pull off just about any role or character. However, this one dialogue of birthday boy Shah Rukh's seems to have let Mr Perfectionist down and how.

In a commercial for a brand he endorses, Aamir can be seen copying King Khan's famous dialogue from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. But he's having a little problem - the dialogue worked like a charm for SRK but not for him.

We're talking about the iconic station scene from DDLJ. You know, the one that gave the world a sure-shot and safe method to find out if a potential love interest returns your affection or not.
It appears though, that simply sharing a last name and superstar status with SRK isn't enough to make a little bit of his own particular magic work for you.

Aamir went through the same drill of palat... palat... palat, but the object of his affections didn't, well, palat.

Did you know that Salman Khan lent his trainer to Aamir Khan for Dangal?

Did you know that Salman Khan lent his trainer to Aamir Khan for Dangal?

Like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, too, is bulking up with a vengeance. The actor has already put on seven kilos and is in the process of piling on eight more by November 22. That’s when he starts shooting for Sultan, which has him playing a wrestler.
To achieve his goal, Salman has been undergoing some “painful” training. Says the superstar, “The weight I need to put on is of the muscular kind. It’s got nothing to do with diet. I eat correctly — I have my protein, chicken and fish. I need to train harder and be focussed.”
His training regime includes different kinds of workouts. He says, “I am learning how to grapple, the floor work (important for fighters), how to kick and how to get kicked! It’s not that we cannot do what they (fighters) do, but they have been doing it for so many years, they do it with ease. I need to get that ease, the flexibility, power and quickness in me. I do about three-four kicks every day, but have to increase it to 150-200 kicks.” Salman devotes four hours to this workout and follows it up with weight training.
What’s interesting is that the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star is training on his own, having lent his trainer Rakesh to Aamir Khan for Dangal. “Rakesh helps me out whenever I need him, but right now, Aamir needs him more,” he says.
Ask him if increasing and reducing weight takes a toll on his health and he quips, “Of course, it does. But I am doing it in a healthy way. Earlier, I used to work out differently, now my workout is aimed towards making me strong.

This made us cry: No Aamir Khan in Lagaan 2

Aamir Khan

Superstar Aamir Khan is reportedly not working on the sequel of Oscar nominated sports-drama "Lagaan". There were rumours that Aamir has started work on the second installment of the film, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
"It is completely false news (Aamir working on the sequel). It is not true at all," sources said.
The film, released in 2001, revolved around a small village where the locals oppressed by high taxes found themselves in an extraordinary situation as an arrogant officer challenges them to a game of cricket as a wager to avoid the taxes. There were also reports that actress Prachi Desai was finalised to play the lead female protagonist. The 50-year-old actor is currently busy working on his most talked about film "Dangal" in which he plays wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.

Salman Khan looks better as wrestler in 'Sultan' than Aamir Khan in 'Dangal', say fans

Sultan and Dangal

Salman Khan is currently in news for his tough look with a moustache in "Sultan", which was revealed in the film's first look poster.
On the other hand, the first look poster of Aamir Khan's "Dangal" showed the actor's angry and muddy face.
Salman and Aamir will be seen as wrestlers in their respective movies and both the first look posters of the two films received good response from fans.
IB Times India conducted a poll asking fans who according to them looks better as a wrestler -- Salman Khan or Aamir Khan.
According to the poll results, Salman fits the role of a wrestler better and 56.92 % voters voted for the "Sultan" actor, while 43.08% voters found Aamir to suit the role better.
Aamir reportedly turned 90 kgs for "Dangal", which will present the actor as legendary wrestler Mahavir Phogat. He will also be seen as a father of two grown-up daughters.
Two newcomers, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra will be seen as Aamir's daughters in "Dangal", while Sakshi Tanwar will play the role of the actor's wife.
Salman, on the other hand, recently stated that he will have to be double his size for "Sultan", as he gears up to play the role of a wrestler from Haryana.
Leading actress for Salman's "Sultan" has not yet been confirmed, but rumours suggest Parineeti Chopra might feature in the film.

Aamir Khan’s Brother Faisal Khan Opens Up About Being Tagged ‘Mental’

Aamir Khan’s Brother Faisal Khan Opens Up About Being Tagged ‘Mental’

louder than words. “Or else how could a mental person be acting in movies?”, he said. “I was also proved normal by the Court. Not many people are aware of that, the verdict says it all. It was a bad time when all these issues started doing the rounds. I have put all that behind me and today all of us in my family are together”, he revealed.
When the interviewer asked him if he ever tried seeking help from Aamir Khan, the actor said that he belongs to a celebrity family where people haven’t seen failure like him and hence “how will you guide others on the same?”. On being asked if they themselves ever tried looking into his grievances or help him with his career, the actor said “it is for you to see if your character and story is good. Then you see if the production house has the money to spend to make the film”.

Dangal vs Sultan: Aamir Khan or Salman Khan – whose first look is better?

The first look of Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ was shared few hours ago. But that rough and tough look reminded of Aamir Khan’s look in ‘Dangal’. The ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ co-stars would be coming across each other on-screen in 2016. The interesting fact is both actors would be donning the role of a wrestler in their films.
In Ali Abbas Zafar directorial flick ‘Sultan’, Salman Khan is playing the character Sultan Ali Khan who is a 40-year-old wrestler from Haryana. Whereas in ‘Dangal’ Aamir Khan is playing the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. The first look poster of the Salman in ‘Sultan’ and Aamir in ‘Dangal’ is very impressive.

When Aamir’s poster had released, it mentioned “Hoga Aaj Se Dangal Shuru”. Aamir showed a fierce and intense side. It revealed Aamir’s face in the backdrop of wrestling pit. Aamir who is known to deliver perfect skills just impressed the audience with the film’s poster. Now coming to Salman, even his poster had a punch line that read, “Wrestling is not a sport, it’s about fighting what lies within”. Salman Khan’s wrestler avatar is something new to the audience even though he has shown some macho skills in the past. Salman’s raw look will give the feeling that he is ready for the fight.

Salman Khan-Aamir Khan's fight: What Kiran Rao has to say about it?

Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Salman Khan

Following reports of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan's recent brawl at the latter's residence, Aamir's wife, Kiran Rao made a witty remark on the same.
There was a buzz that Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are no more friends as the duo engaged in a spat recently during a party at the latter's Bandra residence.
Rumours suggested that Aamir made some remarks about Salman's career and his past choices of films, which did not go well with the "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actor and he yelled at Aamir, calling him 'fake'.
However, Aamir's wife, Kiran Rao hints that these are just gossip stuff and hold no truth. She was attending a press conference in connection with the 17th Mumbai Film Festival, organised by Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI) on Wednesday.
Kiran Rao was asked if she would like to comment on the rumours ofSalman and Aamir's verbal fight, the lady said, "I would love to. But, I am afraid that is after the MAMI conference and it's called the gossip session," stated Miss Malini.com.
It was also reported that Salman and Aamir's rumoured spat was influenced by their upcoming movies "Sultan" and "Dangal" respectively. Both, Salman's "Sultan" and Aamir's "Dangal" are based on the concept of wrestling and makers of both the films reportedly picked up the same shooting locations.

Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan- Who will star in Imtiaz Ali’s next?

Aamir-Shah Rukh

Now that Tamasha is over and ready for release, all eyes are on what director Imtiaz Ali will helm next. Sources say that the director who is known to work mostly with Gen Next actors, will be casting one of the Khans in his next venture. And no, we’re not talking about Saif Ali Khan.
Sources say that either Shah Rukh Khanor Aamir Khan will feature in his next. The SRK film that he is in talks with might be a co-production with Red Chillies and Sajid Nadiadwala, who has signed the director for two more films. Imtiaz’s forte is modern-day love stories and SRK is the King of Romance; it will be interesting to see what the duo will do together. In fact, insiders say that Shah Rukh and Imtiaz had even met to discuss the possibility of doing a film. But that was a few months ago. SRK already has a couple of films on hand — the upcoming Dilwale, Raees and Fan, so this film might not happen right away.
Aamir, on the other hand, works only on one film at a time and is currently shooting forDangal. It’s more likely that he will sign his next with Imtiaz. It will be nice to see Aamir who lately has been doing action films, thrillers and satirical comedies returning to romance. Unless, Imtiaz plans something different, of course.

Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan’s film shooting comes to halt after FWICE strike

The Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees’ (FWICE) strike has affected some of the big ticket films, the shoots of which were brought to an abrupt halt. Be it Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale, Aamir Khan’s Dangal, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani or Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjodaro.
Speaking on the issue, the President of PWICE told The Indian Express, “Shooting in Hyderabad, Cochin, and everywhere else have stopped. Our main body, federation of All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC) met us a couple of days back and pledged their support. It was decided that if anyone decides to shoot outside Mumbai while the strike is in progress here, workers will strike there as well.”
He even said that some of the top stars are supporting their cause and the strike. “Yes, Aamir, SRK, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker, Vipul Shah and all other knowlegable people are supporting us. They know why we are striking and that is why they have stopped shooting,” he added.
Shooting is still on at some locations in the country. Speaking on the demands they ahve raised, he concluded saying, “Our demands are simple and not unreasonable. No worker will work above their 12 hour shift. Labour laws stipulate an eight hour shift but seeing the schedule and ways of the TV industry we agreed for 12 hours. Now the producers are demanding it to be raised to 16 hours. That is inhuman. We also want every second Sunday off and will shoot only in case of an emergency. Also our workers are not paid for a period of 90 days. How do they expect us to survive?”

Salman Khan’s Sultan to be shot in the same location as Aamir Khan’s Dangal?

Salman Khan’s Sultan to be shot in the same location as Aamir Khan’s Dangal?

Aamir Khan recently started shooting for Dangal in Gujjarwal village near Ludhiana. A picture of Salman Khan prepping for his next, Sultan also started doing the rounds on social media around the same time. Both Aamir and Salman play wrestlers in their respective films. Now we hear that Salman’s Sultan might just be shot in the same village where Aamir is currently shooting Dangal!
Jaswinder Singh Grewal, sarpanch of Gujjarwal village, told a leading daily that the makers of Sultan conducted recce to find the right locations to shoot for the Salman Khan film. Its not just the makers of Salman’s Sultan who are keen on shooting in the village near Ludhiana, even the production team of Ajay Devgn’s Sons of Sardaar came to the Gujjarwal village to scout for a location to shoot the film.
But the village panchayat has denied permissions to both makers of Sultan as well as Sons of Sardaar as the village has already been booked for Dangal’s shooting till next year.
Both Salman and Aamir will be playing the roles of real life wrestlers in their films. While Aamir plays Mahavir Phogat in his movie, Salman will essay the role of Kila Raipur village’s popular wrestler Sultan Ali Khan. Ajay Devgn’s Sons of Sardaar will be about the Battle of Sargarhi

When Aamir Khan professed his 'love' for Sunny Leone!

Aamir Khan and Sunny Leone

It looks like Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist has a new admirer in Sunny Leone.
Aamir Khan recently appeared in a Snapdeal ad in which he addressed himself as 'motta' (fat). Actress Sunny Leone seems to have found this adorable and didn't seem to mind the extra kilos the actor had put on.
She took to Twitter to comment on the ad.
Whether or not the PK star's ad attracts customers, he has added another name to his long list of fans.

Aamir Khan Tweeted Dangal First Look, and That Means Twitter Jokes

Aamir Khan

Actor Aamir Khan's face is literally mud in the first look of new film Dangal he tweeted on Monday and while it didn't send the nation reeling as his first poster of PK did, it did have social media sniggering. Since Twitter finds anything Aamir hard to resist these days, cue the jokes.

As you cannot possibly fail to know by now, 50-year-old Aamir now weighs 95 kilos and is playing wrestler Mahavir Phogat, which explains the mud (or does it?)

We believe we might be able to help with the above question. In an interview to Hindustan Times last week, Aamir said, "I read all the jokes. I was reading them and laughing. I don't remember the jokes now, but there were some really good ones. I quite enjoyed all the attention."

He meant the jibes about the bucketfuls he wept while watching Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan and his nephew Imran Khan's new film Katti Batti

Jokes apart, Dangal is now filming in Ludhiana and will release next year. It will be Aamir's first film since 2014's blockbuster PK.

Preparations on in full swing for Aamir Khan’s Dangal

Aamir Khan is leaving just no stone unturned for Dangal. He has not only undergone physical transformation, but is making sure that the film turns out to be the best envisioned version.
Reports have it that Aamir has shortlisted as many as 65 locals who will be essaying various roles in the biopic on Mahavir Singh. And there are more auditions for wrestlers (pehelwans) at Ludhiana on Saturday.
A source told Indian Express, “It was economically unviable to call for artists from Mumbai for small roles like that of a barber, shopkeeper, farmer, cobbler and other background artists. Aamir Khan has personally told the team to ensure that locals are hired after screen test and given employment.”
Even while prepping for the sets of Dangal, the team wanted to give employment opportunities to the locals. Aamir visited Ludhiana’s Kila Raipur village and last week he was even discussing with wrestling association in Mumbai.
Aamir has time and again brought something new to the platter and we are pinning really high hopes on Nitesh Tiwari directorial.
