A great milestone was crossed on Sunday. Aamir Khan’s latest blockbuster P.K. became the first Bollywood film to enter the 300 crore club.
The 300 crore club had eluded the Bollywood superstars so far. A year ago Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 could reach only as far as Rs. 284.27 crore net at the Indian box office. Salman Khan’s Kick too gave up at Rs. 231.85 crore.
But Rajkumar Hirani’s latest release ‘PK’ seems unstoppable. On its 17th day at the box office, the film created history by becoming the first ever Indian film to enter the 300 crore club (net figures).
After 17 days, the ‘PK’ collection stands at a whopping Rs. 305.62 crore.
Moreover, the film is still in the running and trade pundits feel it might add another 30-40crore to its kitty as its lifetime business.
Interestingly, Aamir Khan was the first to enter the 100 crore club with Ghajini and also the first to enter the 200 crore club with 3 Idiots. Now’s he’s become the first one to breach the 300 crore mark.
A true superstar in every sense of the word.
